Wishing for Rain on Your Wedding Day!
Maddie and Hunter are true Oregonians...through and through! They both love to adventure and enjoy our gorgeous outdoor attractions, so when I started planning a styled elopement and they answered the call to come model, I knew it was a match made in heaven!
I initially met Maddie at our local bouldering gym and just fell in love with her personality! It was a total bonus that she is not only gorgeous inside and out, but that her relationship with Hunter, her main squeeze, is one of those relationships that just exude love. We are talking serious couples goals here people. I will never forget watching Hunter when Maddie was getting her hair and make-up done. He couldn't take his eyes off of her, he stayed in the room and was part of the process and told her several times just how breathtaking she was, but he also made a point to tell her how beautiful she is without makeup. It was one of those moments that just make your heart happy, you know?
I really love it when our couples ride with us to the destination, there is nothing better than using that time to get to know them more. It is honestly one of my favorite times! We talked about rock climbing, music, hiking, cooking, dreams, jobs...it was so fun to see all of the commonalities we share and to see the comfort and acceptance of their love for each other.
Wahclella Falls has always held a special place in my heart. My oldest and I spent a day one time hiking several waterfalls in the Gorge and Wahclella was the last one we hiked that day. A couple of years ago there was a tragic fire that destroyed thousands of acres of forest, including parts of Wahclella Falls, so the trail has been closed until recently. I knew that it would make the most spectacular backdrop for these two amazing humans! The rain just added to the magic!
Maddie and Hunter changed into their clothes on the side of the trail so that when they saw the falls for the first time together it would be even more special. Because of the rain, I packed tea and my backpacking stove to warm us up...Hunter packed something a little stiffer. :) We played around the falls, had tea and some snuggles, enjoyed good conversation until twilight came, threw our packs back on and hiked out knowing that this day would forever be special to all of us.
Thank you to the amazing vendors who made this day possible!
