Engagement Shootout on the Oregon Coast
Springtime in Oregon has the craziest weather EVER! Who would have thought that a shoot-out (where lots of photographers get together and shoot the same subject) that was scheduled months in advance on the Oregon Coast would have the most AMAZING weather ever!! I mean, seriously-it was March. In Oregon. And I was warm. Like denim shirt, t-shirt and jeans warm. Like warm breeze on the Oregon Coast warm! So great!
Want to know what else was great about this shoot-out? Ummm...everything! Elle with Harper Grace Photo put this shoot-out together and I am was so excited to finally meet her in person! She is such a kind soul with an amazing heart! And truly embraces the #communityovercompetition mentality.
There were about 16 photographers, and it was so fun getting to meet them and see each different work style. It is always interesting to have a group of photographers all shooting the same thing, because you will never see the same image twice. I like to say that each photogs style is like a finger print-not one image will be exactly identical! So much goes into an image-personality, light, camera settings, editing and it all contributes to the photographers style.
Let me tell you about our models! Katelyn and Will were simply amazing! This couple that has been snuggling up for 11 months now and I was just so honored to capture their pure joy and happiness. The love of adventure and travel are super important to both of them, and I couldn't agree more. I was not surprised to find out that they fell in love at first sight! Their laughs and playfulness completely drew you in and even now, thinking back on this day, I cannot help but smile.
Alyssa with Underwood Makeup did an amazing job with Katelyn's make-up. She perfectly enhanced Katelyn's natural, fresh beauty!
