Magical Mount Rainier Getaway
What do photographers do for fun? Take photographs, of course!! And that is exactly what these lovely ladies and I did! Casi with Casi Yost Photography and Stacie with Widman Photography are two incredibly talented photographers and even more amazing ladies. I can't remember who had the idea initially of a quick adventure trip, but we were all on board and what better place to have an adventure than Mount Rainier National Park?!
We stayed at this quirky hotel that had hands down the most comfortable beds EVER! I highly recommend staying at Alexander's Lodge, it is 5 minutes from the park entrance and they even take dogs!
We met up with some other lovely creatives for a fun couples session that evening in the rain and ended the night having pizza and fried appetizers at a bar down the road because it was the only thing open. Not gonna lie, when we saw the cat walk out of the kitchen, we were a little worried. But thankfully none of us got sick and we all were sufficiently stuffed with fried food and carbs.
The next day the three of us (truthfully it was mainly Casi and Stacie) got gussied up in wedding attire for a day of shooting each other. They looked gorgeous!! I have to share this story...as we were just finishing shooting, we saw this marmot making its way through the meadow, across the creek and then it turned directly for us. Both Stacie and Casi were yelling "it's charging us!!!" and it made me laugh so hard, but I simply told it that it needed to turn, and it did. Yep, pretty much a marmot whisperer. Lol! What made it even better is I had been saying that I wanted to see a bear so bad (neither Casi or Stacie shared this desire) and when we were done frolicking in the meadow we hopped in the car and right around the corner in another meadow was a bear!! There is a photo of Stacie running towards a tree stand-she basically was running straight to the bear! Brenna from Brenna Burnett Florals made us a stunning bouquet. Even though the weather was not what we initially wanted, it was actually perfect and made for some epic photos! It was pretty much the best magical day ever!!
I will be forever thankful for adventures filled with laughter and memories and taking one with these two was definitely a highlight of my 2019 summer!
