We met on a crisp October morning at Silver Falls State Park, with golden sunlight filtering through the trees and the kind of fresh, cool air that makes you want to wrap your hands around a warm mug of tea. From the misty waterfalls to the sunlit forest, this session was an absolute dream.

A Morning Among the Trees

We started at South Falls, wandering through the lush green forest as the early morning sun streamed through the autumn leaves. The golden hues of fall surrounded us, creating the perfect cozy atmosphere. Kori, a self-proclaimed bookworm, brought along a novel, and we captured some of my favorite images from the entire session—her lying on a blanket, fully lost in her book, with the sun glowing through the trees behind her. There was something so effortless and serene about those moments, like stepping into a storybook.

Kori is also a budding photographer, so of course, we had to incorporate her camera into the shoot. Seeing her light up while talking about photography reminded me of why I love capturing seniors in their element.

Cozy Vibes at North Falls

After South Falls, we made our way to North Falls, where the autumn colors were in full display. The morning chill was still hanging in the air, so Kori wrapped her hands around a steaming mug of tea while we snapped a few cozy portraits. The contrast of the warm tea, the cool air, and the vibrant leaves made for such a perfect fall moment.

Kori had a few outfit changes throughout the session, but the most stunning by far was the final look—an ethereal blue dress from Peru. And let me tell you, she was brave. The water at the falls is not warm, but she didn’t hesitate for a second. She stepped right in, letting the fabric float around her, the waterfall mist adding an extra layer of drama. The result? Absolutely breathtaking.
